How Satan Used The Great Depression to Bind a Nation-Including You….
I remember speaking to my mother about her life, and she continually focused on the days she suffered through “The Great Depression”. She would share repeatedly how great gloominess and sadness blanketed the land during those dark days. Depression became a household word for that generation. That time of great loss was a huge door of opportunity that allowed a spirit of depression to sweep across this nation.
The Bible tells us in Exodus 20 vs. 5 that the sins of the fathers can visit the 3rd and 4th generation. Could the door of the “Great Depression” be what escalated the demonic kingdoms agenda for a depression epidemic in today’s middle-aged women ?
That spirit of depression tormented my mother with fear of financial loss and bouts of depression that caused her to self medicate with alcohol. The same thing happened to me, but I found today’s most acceptable answer, prescription medication.
A series of losses or fear of loss often fuel depression.
Look back over your life and you will recognize a cycle of loss followed by deep depression. It’s like watching the same movie but with different actors in different stages of your life.
Your Spiritual Weapons Against Depression
I know that when I recognized cycle and realized the root of the depression was generational, I instantly had hope.
God’s word clearly gives us authority to break generational curses in the name and blood of Jesus Christ. Then I was able to find deliverance counselors to break the stronghold of heaviness that tormented my thinking with sadness, gloominess, loss, and depression.
After deliverance, I did not go home and throw out my medication. However as I walked it out with the Holy Spirit, I came to a day ,after decreasing my dosage, I just did not need it anymore. The fruit of the Holy Spirit was in full bloom and it felt great to feel alive and no longer numb.
Starting the Journey to Victory
Sheer revelation that this may be generational, and that there is hope, will begin to help you see this struggle from a different perspective. Today, however, you need to take authority over these spiritual tormentors with God’s Word.

As you speak these out loud, you are putting your foot on the head of the enemy in your home and causing a shift in your atmosphere. It’s the beginning to the end of the cycle!
